Marketing Strategies

I work in retail so I am more exposed and aware than people who have never been in retail of the different marketing strategies used. In the store I work there are multiple different ways of making people buy things. One of the most recent things that the company has tried to do is to reset the whole store, so that everything has moved from where it was before, this increases sales because moving everything caused customers to have to walk all around the store, aisle by aisle to find the products that they normally buy.  
                Another way of attracting customers and enticing them to buy more is making sales. However they are not just normal sales they are the buy so many then get each for some slightly reduced price. this makes people buy more and people want to in order to lower the price slightly. Another sale tactic is to do the, well an example of it is to do a 10 for $10 sale. Most people don’t realize that in most places you don’t have to buy the amount that it says like for the 10 for $10 this just means that they are all one dollar.
                A good way of avoiding these sales gimmicks is to learn them and pay attention to the amount that sales are over time and to see if you are getting a good deal. And if you are not sure if there are indeed these types of sales, ask the people working there. Also there are even apps nowadays that let you scan something and it tells you where the best price is to get it.
